Richard Hammond, B.A., LLB
Partner, Hammond Flesias LLP
Richard is a partner at Hammond Flesias who practices civil litigation, primarily in the area of construction law.
Richard graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with honours from the University of Western Ontario (Huron College), in 1994. Following the completion of his studies at the University of Western Ontario, Richard proceeded to obtain his LLB from the University of Saskatchewan in 1998 and became a member of the Law Society of Alberta in 1999.
Richard has practiced construction law almost exclusively since he was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2001 and had the privilege of being mentored by first rate litigation and construction lawyers.
Richard always attempts to bring a practical approach to every lawsuit and brings a unique perspective to the practice of construction law as a result of his experience growing up working in the construction industry and his employment on residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. As a result of his experience working in the construction industry, Richard has an ability to speak to contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders in language that is not limited to legalese.
Richard has appeared before all levels of Court in the Province of Ontario and has significant experience representing suppliers, sub-contractors, contractors, owners, architects, engineers and other stakeholders in the construction pyramid.
William Peters
President, Peters Wealth Management
One of fifteen siblings, William was raised on a small farm in SW Manitoba. William is Personal Financial Planner, MFDA, LLQP, licensed in all four western provinces, and is a Certified CAFA Advisor, and owner of Peters Wealth Management with two offices in Western Canada.
Until recently William was the Chair for the Calgary - Red Deer chapter of CAFA and served as a volunteer on the Strathmore Ag Society board. When not with his family, he spends his time in farming communities across Western Canada.
Peters Wealth Management provides holistic financial planning and specializes in Advanced Tax, Wealth, Risk Management, and Succession Planning.
Mike Specht
M&L Specht Enterprises Inc.
Mike Specht, based in Provost, Alberta, is a 5th generation feedlot/farmer and the owner of M&L Specht Enterprises Inc. He currently operates a 8000+ head feedlot and farms over 4,500 acres of land. Mike is one of larger beef producers in the country feeding cattle year round in custom feed yards as well as his own.
The farming operation produces corn silage, feed barley, and canola, the livestock operation consists of finishing cattle, feeder cattle, and grass cattle. Mike has over 20 years of experience, a diploma in Agricultural Production from Olds College and specializes in Modern Grain & Cattle Production and Marketing.
Sandeep K. Dhir, QC
Partner, SB LLP
Sandeep is a Partner and the Team Lead of the Litigation department at SB LLP. He practiced law for almost 20 years at a major, regional law firm prior to joining SB LLP in 2020.
Sandeep is an experienced litigator with significant court room experience at both the trial and appellate level.
He has represented clients before all levels of Court in Alberta, including the Court of Appeal, and various administrative boards and tribunals, and in 2010, Sandeep appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada on behalf of a Metis Settlement in a significant constitutional matter.
Sandeep is the co-author of the Carswell textbook Collections Law in Alberta: A Practical Guide which was published in March 2012.
He regularly teaches the Alberta Bar Admission/CPLED Course and has guest lectured at the University of Alberta.
These commitments contributed to Sandeep being conferred the designation of Queen’s Counsel in 2016 and recognition by his peers in the legal profession as a Benchmark “Litigation Star” annually since 2013, as one of the best litigation lawyers in the country.
